About EY Innovative Startup 2024

The "EY Innovative Startup" award has been held since 2017 with the aim of supporting further growth of outstanding startup companies through proper recognition, thereby promoting innovation that leads to economic revitalization. Companies are selected based on EY's network and knowledge, as well as the opinions of external experts, and are judged on three criteria: innovation, growth potential, and social contribution. This year, 15 companies were selected from nine fields, with pafin receiving the award in the "web3" category.

Reason for the Award

The web3 market, promoted by the Japanese government, faces many challenges due to its emerging nature. In particular, understanding investors' transaction histories and asset management are significant issues. pafin was awarded for its early efforts to address these challenges from an investor's perspective and for its technological capabilities.

Comments from pafin Co-chairman: Amin Azmoudeh and Gaku Saito

Since its inception in December 2017, pafin has been committed to solving challenges in the web3 space, launching the leading cryptocurrency profit and loss calculation service "cryptact" and “web3 Sidekick” service "defitact" in June 2023, which allow users to aggregate DeFi and NFT transactions on blockchains, and visualize on-chain activity. One of the evaluated points was our "blockchain analysis capability," an area we have focused on since around 2020. As of March 2024, we can analyze over thirty thousand smart contracts, a feat that only a few companies worldwide have achieved, making it a significant intellectual property for our company.

We will continue to leverage our accumulated IT technology and analytical capabilities to engage in new businesses essential for the development and revitalization of web3.
